About Dr. Derrick J. Hughes

Dr. Derrick J. Hughes was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at the age of thirteen. He accepted the call to the preaching ministry in 1985, and in 1988 he was ordained as a minister. Dr. Hughes is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Piney Grove in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Cumulatively Dr. Hughes has served as a pastor nearly two decades. Dr. Hughes is the founder of Omnivision – The Church Doctors; a church-consulting firm focused on helping churches reach their God intended potential. He has a passion for Biblical preaching, expanding the kingdom of God, and impacting society with the love and authority of Jesus Christ.
